David Anthony McInerney, 84, passed away on June 29, 2026, in Jacksonville, FL. Born on June 3, 1942, David was known for his roles as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His warm presence and the long stories he told will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

David proudly served in the Army during the Vietnam War, a testament to his bravery and commitment to his country. After his military service, he pursued his education at SUNY Buffalo, which further shaped his early adult years.

He found joy in hobbies such as sailing on Lake Erie, riding his motorcycle, and sharing his many adventures through his elaborate stories. These activities brought great happiness to his life and connected him with a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who shared his passions.

David is survived by his wife, Pat Machemer McInerney; sons, Adam (Melissa) McInerney, and Brett (Kristen) McInerney; daughter, Erin (Matthew) Cullen; grandchildren, Addison Cullen, Hunter McInerney, and Maximus Cullen; and sister, Gloria Fadden, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Mary McInerney, and his sister, Norma McNulty.

David’s life was marked by his deep commitment to his family, his courage during his military service, and his ability to capture the hearts of those around him with his storytelling. He will be remembered for his unwavering love and dedication to his family and friends.
