Dorothy M. Hilliker

at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY. She was born on January 13, 1934 in Mount Carmel PA, the daughter of the late Leo and Stella Marciniak, where her family is from. At some point

during her childhood her family moved to Silver Creek, NY where she grew up.

Dorothy loved and embraced the Silver Creek and Dunkirk communities. She graduated Silver

Creek High School in 1951, she continued her education at SUNY at Fredonia earning a Bachelor

Degree in Education in 1971 and a Masters Degree in 1977. During her younger years, Dorothy worked at the phone company and also served as a substitute teacher until she married and began working in the grape fields with her husband. Some of her greatest pleasures were ushering in the theater department at Fredonia where she met many friends, and travelling to Europe and Las Vegas with friends and relatives especially her aunt Anna and her mom.

Dorothy was also a proud and avid roller skater. Upon her separation and later divorce from her husband, she lived in Hanford Bay most recently on Moran Lane, where she was quite active in the Hanford Bay community. She leaves behind many friends and memories.

Dorothy is survived by her brother, Richard’s children, John and James Marciniak and Lisa Long as well as other cherished extended family. She is also survived by caring friends, many of whom went above and beyond in helping her during her later years. I hope they know who they are.
