Frances Lorraine Himes

1935-2026

Frances Lorraine Himes, 91, of Gerry, NY formerly of Perrysburg, NY passed away Tuesday July 14, 2026 at Brooks Hospital in Dunkirk, NY.

She was born July 3, 1935 in Reynoldsville, PA the daughter of the late Floyd and Frances (Hollenbaugh) Sprankle.

On April 14, 1956 she married William Himes Sr. who predeceased her in 2022.

Mrs. Himes loved crafts, gardening, baking and babysitting.

She is survived by two sons William (Brenda) Himes of South Dayton, NY and Brian (Kim) Himes of Gerry, NY and three grandchildren, William, Robert (Tracy) and Matthew (Courtney) and four great grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, Allison and Madeline and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her loving husband, she was predeceased by two sons Randy Himes and Terry Himes, two brothers Bernard Sprankle and Devor Sprankle and five sisters Donna Lingenfelter, Audrey Bantin, Nancy Keenan, Olive Thompson and Vanda Sprankle.

Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc. 105 East Main St. in Gowanda, NY on Friday, July 17, 2026 from 4-7pm.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 18, 2026 at 11am from the funeral home.

Burial will be in Mount View Cemetery in Olean, NY.
