Jeffrey L. Newell

With deep sorrow, we announce Jeffrey L. Newell, 68, of Niles OH, passed away peacefully on July 17th, 2026.

He graduated from Cassadaga Valley High School in 1975. He worked as a butcher for four years at South Dayton Super Duper. He then pursued a career as a sheet metal worker, going through the apprenticeship program, earning first in his class as a fully qualified sheet-metal journeyman. He worked at Springehorn Sheet Metal for most of his career and took great pride in designing and building a wind tunnel for Chrysler Technology in Detroit, MI.

His sense of humor (even inappropriate at times), will be remembered as he had the ability to create laughter in every conceivable situation. His infectious, contagious laugh spurred intense laughter with anyone he encountered.

Jeff was an avid Buffalo Sabres and Bills fan. He was an agile learner who took pride in the complexity of challenges. Jeff's generous spirit, along with his intellectual and mechanical ability, prompted him to always lend a helping hand and share his diverse knowledge.

Jeff is survived by family who he loved immensely- his father, Frederick Newell, Dunkirk NY., son Brandon (Tamara) Newell, of Sharpsville, PA; and six grandchildren: Morgan Newell, Madison Newell,Thomas Newell, and Cora Dunham-Newell of Sharpsville, PA., Abrianna Newell and Aleya Newell both of Brocton, NY. He is also survived by sister Lori (Phillip) Johnson of Sinclairville, NY., and sister-in-law Priscilla "Perk" Newell of Cassadaga, NY., as well as several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna (Miller) Newell (1997), a brother Ricky Newell (1999), and a son, Ryan Newell (2018).

A graveside service will be held at a later date upon the convenience of the family. Donations can be made to Mercy Hospice of the Valley House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Youngsville, Ohio. 44514.
