Sandra L. Manos, 80, of Silver Creek, NY passed away unexpectedly on Saturday afternoon July 18, 2026 at her home.
She was born in Silver Creek, NY the daughter of the late Harold “Pete” and Helen (Willard) Slocum. She married George J. Manos on March 22, 1986, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Silver Creek and he predeceased her in 2002.
Surviving are a step-son, Steven Manos of Dunkirk, NY, a step-granddaughter, Michaela Manos; her step-sons lifelong partner, David Gratzer of Rochester, NY.
She was preceded in death by a step-son, Christopher Manos, she always said “Proud to be his Wicked Step-Mother.”
Sandy was a lifelong area resident who graduated from Silver Creek High School in 1963, continuing her education at SUNY Fredonia earning a Bachelor's degree in Education. She taught 4th & 5th grade elementary classes at Lakeshore Central School in Angola, NY retiring in 2000 after 33 years of service.
In her free time she was an avid reader who enjoyed romance novels and mysteries. She also enjoyed traveling to Russia, the Mediterranean, Egypt and Norway to name a few places she visited.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family, date and time to be announced.
