Diane B. (Marki) Leone, 97, of Fredonia, NY entered eternal rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. She is predeceased by her husband of over 60 years, Dr. Anthony R. "Slim" Leone.
Diane is survived by her three beloved children: Leslie (Tim) Benjamin, of Naples, FL, Gregg (Mimi) Leone, of Naples, FL and Scott (Sara) Leone, of Camp Hill, PA; grandchildren: Lauren (Matt) Emch, Bryan (Emma) Benjamin, Rebecca (Dan) Wolner, Mary (Rob) Duffy, Luke (Bethany) Leone, nine great grandchildren, and surviving brother Francis (Patricia) Marki. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Lillian Marki of Dunkirk, NY
Diane was a graduate of Dunkirk High School and SUNY Fredonia. She taught early education and art in Niagara Falls, Dunkirk and Fredonia. She was an accomplished artist who produced many paintings and drawings in Fredonia and Dunkirk, including many landmarks and residences. Her love of flowers and gardening was also reflected in much of her work. In addition, she became a National Flower Show Judge. Beginning in 1989 she and her husband enjoyed 27 years of winters in Naples, Florida. In Naples she became a member of Ikebana International Japanese Flower Arranging, and after study and certification started teaching it until returning permanently to Fredonia in 2016. Over the years she enjoyed her many long-standing cherished friendships in both Fredonia and Naples.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dunkirk, 876 Central Ave., Dunkirk, NY 14048. If desired, any contributions may be made to the church.
Visitation will be held at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia on Friday, August 21, 2026 from 10am-11am, where a funeral service will follow at 11 am. Online condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com. Arrangements by David J. Dengler.
