Jennie Mary Gallaway, 74, of Rt 5 & 20 Irving, died Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at Brooks Memorial Hospital, Dunkirk. She was born in the Town of Arkwright on December 20, 1951, the daughter of the late Roy and Mabel (Butcher) Frost.
Jennie was a graduate of Forestville Central School, Class of 1970 and worked as a Baker for the former Petri Bakery Products, Inc., Silver Creek for 32 years. She was a past member of the Silver Creek Amvets, Ladies Auxiliary and the Tuesday Night Riles & Woolley Bowling league in Silver Creek for many years.
Survivors include husband of almost 55 years, John "Jack" Gallaway of Irving, whom she married on September 4, 1971, a son, Brian Gallaway of Brocton and a sister, Harriet Fitzgerald of TN. Also surviving are a granddaughter, Mariah (Scott) Mekus, a great granddaughter, Emma Mekus, nieces, Casimina (BrinK) Doner, Lori (Richard Austin) Wallace along with several other nieces & nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers; Roy Frost, Jr., LaVerne Frost, Eugene Frost, & Wayne Frost a sister Caroline Carwell and a brother-in-law Thomas Fitzgerald.
Friends are welcome to call at Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main Street, Forestville on Monday from 3-5 pm. There will be no funeral services observed. Private Interment will be at the convenience of the family in Burnham Hollow Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.
