Matthew "Matt" James Cox, 37, of Live Oak, Texas, formerly of the Dunkirk and Forestville, New York area, passed away unexpectedly in August 2026.
Matt was born on June 5, 1989.
He grew up in the Forestville area and graduated from Forestville High School in 2007 and later attended ITT Technical Institute.
Matt worked at Cabana Sam's, Circuit City, Best Buy, and EGB and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Matt is survived by his wife, Bailee Cox; his beloved children, Eli Prosser, Audiana Prosser, Easton Cox and Wren Cox; his parents, Patricia and Thomas Wright, Gary Cox, and Michael Barnard; his sisters, Jennifer Hogue and her husband, Bradley, and Stacey Lack and her partner, Rodney Jimerson; as well as his nieces, nephews, extended family, and the many friends who loved him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Ruth Mekus; Audrey and Roy Cox; his aunt, Lou Ann Krystofiak; his beloved godfather, Hugh E. Patterson;
