Robert C. Ames, 87, of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA with his family at his side.
He was born in Jamestown, NY on January 25, 1939 the son of the late Harlow and Julia (Maring) Ames.
On September 12, 1959, he married the former Alice Ingham at the First Methodist Church in Fredonia, NY and together they raised four children.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 66 years, Alice E. Ames; three loving children, Christopher (Kathy) Ames of Campobello, SC., Todd (Donna) Ames of Delaware, OH and Andrew (Carrie) Ames of Ripley, NY; 10 cherished grandchildren, Derrek (Krysten), Zachery (Tricia), Kayla, Kennedy, Kourtney, Benjamin (Olivia), Autumn, Nicholas (Jacquelyn), Jacob (Dacota) and Tyler Ames; 12 great-grandchildren; also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Robert was predeceased by a son, Terry Ames, a grandson, Alexander Ames, a brother, Bruce Ames, and a sister, Joann Raynor.
Robert graduated from Brocton High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and was the owner and operator of B & B Friendly Service with his brother Bruce in Westfield and Fredonia, NY for more than 15 years. After selling his business, he went to work for the Village of Westfield retiring after 20 years of service. In his younger years, he belonged to the Westfield Moose Lodge # 118 and the Westfield Jaycees.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Date and time to be announced. Arrangements have
