Solomon Monje Carvajal, 65, of Dunkirk, passed away at home with his loving family by his side Wednesday morning, August 12, 2026. Born in Valparaiso Caquet', Columbia on March 23, 1961, he was husband of Luz Rivera and son of the late Soloman Monje Bermudez and Mercedes Carvajal Lozada.
Having spent most of his life in Colombia, Solomon was incredibly proud to have made his way to America. Solomon had a true passion for soccer. He not only loved watching and playing the sport, but also served as a referee. Solomon also enjoyed sewing and cooking. He was a dedicated and hardworking man who took great pride in providing for and caring for the people he loved.
Above all, Solomon will be remembered as a good son, a devoted husband, and a loyal friend. His kindness, strong work ethic, and genuine love for others left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Luz Rivera, daughter, Ana (Javier Diaz) Milena Rivera, sister, Sandra (Cesar Leyva); grandchildren, Bryan Rivera, David Rivera and Felipe Rivera; and his brothers, Angel, Juan, Wilson and John Monje Carvajal.
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend Calling Hours on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 3-6 p.m. at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home, Inc.; 56 East Doughty St., Dunkirk, NY.
