Susan C. (Herrington) Steward, 75, of Cherry Creek, passed away unexpectedly at home of natural causes with her husband Jim at her side on, Saturday, August 15, 2026.
She was born October 4, 1951 in Silver Creek, NY, the daughter of the late Floyd and Mildred Gertrude (Nelson) Herrington.
Sue was a graduate of Forestville Central School and was a longtime Home maker in Cherry Creek. She had worked also for Cherry Woodcrafter and for the Steuben Electric Company.
Sue was happiest when she was home with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed sewing and watching Buffalo Bills games with family. She was a former member of the Cherry Creek Fire Department Auxiliary
She is survived by her husband and soul mate of 46 years, James W. Steward, whom she married on August 9, 1980 in the Cherry Creek United Methodist Church, a son; Shane Steward of Texas, two grandchildren; Amber (Justin) Huber, Sebastian (Kalie) Steward, Zenobia Peck and Elliot Peck, four great grandchildren, Coyote, Stanley, Justin Jr. and Paisley, a sister, Judy Leeson of Georgia as well as many brother and sister-In-Laws as well as many cousins and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Mildred and a brother, David Herrington.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to -12 Noon on Saturday (August 22, 2026) in the VanRensselaer & Son Funeral Home, Randolph, from where funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday.
