John Elliott

John Elliott, 80, of Fredonia, passed peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026.

"Well done my good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:2).

Like King David, John was "a man after God's own heart" (Acts 13:22) and he loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a man of prayer and bold witness for Jesus Christ.

He was a faithful, trustworthy, loving and protective husband. He treated others with dignity and respect those who others might look down upon. He was a lover of God's creation and could tell you the name of any tree by its trunk or leaves.

John served as a radio operator for the United States Army in Vietnam. He was just eighteen and a country boy who grew up slinging hay and romping in the woods with his dogs Muffin and Moose before he was drafted into a horrible war. He served his country faithfully and he never lost his sensitive, gentle spirit. I am honored as his wife to call him my Hero forever.

John was preceded in death by his son Carl through marriage, his father, Elmer E. Elliott and his mother, Adeline Elliott, his brother, Larry Elliot and his sister, Rita Raynor. He is survived by his wife Rhonda, his daughter, Josie through marriage, son-in-law, Brooke and three grandchildren, Carson, Willow and Talula whom he prayed for until his life on this earth ended.

Funeral services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by R. Michael Mackowiak III; McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home, 736 Central Ave, Dunkirk, NY. Share condolences at, www.mcgrawkowalfuneralhome.com

Donations can be made to Veterans 4 Christ, Brocton NY in John's memory.
