FREDONIA: Fighting a blaze with the weather
It was a worst-case scenario. A morning house fire raged in the village of Fredonia with bitterly cold temperatures that required a team effort.
To the credit of all who responded, it was a job well done — even though it was far from easy. Due to the bone-chiling conditions, getting water from the hydrants was a major problem. Fortunately, neighboring fire departments turned out to assist in battling the blaze.
Our prayers go out to all those and their families who have been impacted by the event that occurred at 111 Center St. It was a sad start to the day for many in and around the village.
