Christmas basket program delivers again for the needy

On behalf of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Basket Project, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to the local community for your generous donations toward our Christmas Basket Project which took place from Dec. 18 to 20.

This year, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Basket Project was able to give out a total of 151 food and gift baskets to needy families in our area. Through your donations, 546 children and adults received Christmas this year.

In all, a total of 32,760 meals were distributed to families through the Christmas Basket Project. This could not have been accomplished without the financial support and generous donations of gifts from our local community. Even through difficult economic times, the true spirit of giving was witnessed.

I would also like to thank the hundreds of volunteers who gave their time to help us put the baskets together and distribute them. We would not be able to do this project without you!

Once again, thank you very much for your donation toward the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas Basket Project. We hope you will consider making a donation next year as we continue to help others in need.

May you have a blessed year!

Carol A. Smith, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Christmas basket project coordinator, is a Dunkirk resident.
