Editor, OBSERVER:

The Chautauqua County Women’s Action Group would like to thank all who made the March For Our Lives Rally in Dunkirk, on Saturday, March 24, a successful event. It was a peaceful demonstration and call to action to end gun violence and promote school and gun safety. To the kids and students who had the courage to stand up and speak that day … your voices were heard. Thank you to those who traveled from areas such as Olean and Warren, Pennsylvania. Many thanks to all of the students, parents, teachers, community members, and city officials who attended.

The Organizing Committee for March For Our Lives acknowledges the following: Dunkirk High School student leader Jared DeJesus; Dunkirk Public School Superintendent Dr. James Tracy and Tim Abbey, Director of Buildings Grounds and Transportation; Dunkirk City Common Council and Mayor Rosas; City of Dunkirk Police Department; Public Works Director Randy Woodbury; League of Women Voters — Chautauqua County; Ricky Santiago Jr. for help with the flyers, every business or establishment that hung flyers for the March; Margaret Baumgartner for the homemade brownies; Darwin Barker Library; Central Station Restaurant; Paper Factory and Copy Boy of Dunkirk.

Thank you for your support.
