Milestone Mindszenty reunion set for July

I have been communicating with several members of the class Cardinal Mindszenty Class of 1964 via email. If I have not been communicating with you, please send me your email address so I am able to.

This letter is a reminder that we will soon be having our 55th class reunion. We had a blast at our last one as Elaine Bleck Yuen from our class with her husband David provided great entertainment at our last one. We are fortunate that they are available and will providing the entertainment again. The date of the upcoming reunion is Saturday, July 13. It again will be at the Kosciuszko Club, which is at 252 Nevins St. in Dunkirk. It is where we held our 50th. It is on the corner of Doughty and Nevins with the main entrance on Nevins. However, there is a ramp and a drive on the opposite side of the main entrance which is their handicap entrance. I will be using that one as I am not able to do steps anymore, But I am above ground and life is good.

We will gather about 6 p.m. with dinner served at 7. The meal will be about the same as last time with chicken and pork chops. There will be no cost for this event as there was some money in the treasury. If there is too much of a shortfall will may run a 50-50 raffle. There will be a cash bar. I have ordered some nice pens marking the date of the reunion as a souvenir. Use it in front of all of your friends so they can say, “Holy cow! You graduated from high school 55 years ago!”

There will be a Mass held by Father Jan Trela at the 8:30 a.m. service Sunday, July 14 in the St. Hedwig’s parish of Blessed Angela. It is located at 324 Townsend St. It is very handicap friendly and no stairs are needed to be used. The Mass will be offered for the living and the deceased members of the CMHS Class of ’64. It does not matter if you are no longer Catholic. All are welcome.

I have asked Peter Jakubowski to be our speaker. He said he will speak about what the CMHS students taught him! Peter was the president of the CMHS Class of ’58 and they held their 60th reunion in in 2018. The Dunkirk OBSERVER published a very nice picture of those in attendance.

Please spread the word about our event. All you need to do is show up. Please call me at (812) 236-0968 if you have any questions.

May God bless you all!
