Special show of support perfect for 25th year

On behalf of the 1891 Fredonia Opera House, I want to extend our sincerest appreciation to all those who supported our 25th Anniversary celebration last month.

Thank you to all those who performed in Fredonia on Stage! — 25 Years Later, our special celebratory anniversary variety show: Big Tone (Willie Fuentes, Keith Medley, Randy Van Wey and Kevin Way); the Newton Street Irregulars 2.0 (Dan Berggren, Jenny Berggren, Carmen Gilman, Dick Gilman, Janet Gilman, and Chris Warner); Christina Rausa; Trevor Napoli; Fr. Sean Duggan, Bryan Eckenrode, Brian Walnicki and Grant Cooper; Julie Costantini, Jennifer Davis, Katie Ryan and James Welch; the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet (Monika Alch, Averil Dubois, Cecelia Johnson, Telly Ortiz, Maya Swanson and Cate Walter); and In Jest (Noah Chon and Nels Ross).

Thank you to the craftsmen who created the fan-shaped, three legged corner tables that were auctioned off at the post-show reception: Hank Hawkins and the Fancher Chair Co.; Jeff Davis and Jeff Davis Construction/Arkwright Millworks; Jim Hurtgen and Wally Latimer; and also to the artists who put their talents to work embellishing the tables: Tom Annear, Jay East, Risha Formanowicz, Susan Forrester-Mackay, Charlotte Herlong, Ann Janik, Tom Janik, Judy Kawski, Ronnie Lafferty, Don & Sara Baker Michalak, and Nancy Nixon Ensign.

Thank you to the Fredonia Beaver Club and Fred’s Catering for hosting and feeding the reception attendees; and to the volunteers and Board members who helped set up, work at and clean up after the day’s festivities. Also, to the area media who helped publicize and who covered the event.

And finally, thank you to all of the audience members who attended either or both events, to those patrons who couldn’t attend but made generous donations, and to those who bid on the artist tables.

We had a wonderful time with the celebration; judging from the comments we’ve heard following the events, so did everyone involved!

Rick Davis is executive director, Marsha Finley is the business and box office manager and Dan Allen is technical director at the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center.
