Editor, OBSERVER:

My husband, Ken, and I were so deeply saddened to hear of the death of Steven Yunghans of Fredonia. Although the obituary mentioned several destinations for memorial donations, there is also a GoFundMe account set up to help his family.

His wife, Erica, is former Lifestyles editor of this newspaper. I had the pleasure of getting to know her and Steven when they were both employed there. Erica also did free-lance writing for my office at SUNY Fredonia. Steven’s death was unexpected and the family will be facing serious struggles as Erica is disabled.

People who want to help should know they can sign into GoFundMe.com and search for the The Yunghans Family Assistance Fund. The goal is to raise $10,000.
