Images of a 1990s film: County buys in to security ploy

It's like a remake of that widely popular film of the mid-1990s, "The Net," staring Sandra Bullock as a cyber-security geek who foils a take-over by the villainous "Gatekeeper" organization determined to control Internet info under the guise of "security."

The updated version of the Hitchcock-like film goes something like this: A popular female governor of a Democrat-controlled state contracts with a Democrat Party-connected security outfit to provide cybersecurity for big cities and counties in her Blue State. The toothy, smiling governor trusts the high-tech company because they've proven their value to the Democrats in taking down an unwanted President by saddling him with the charge that he used the dreaded Russians as conspirators in helping in his election campaign.

The governor and her choice for state-wide security gets a discount price, just $90 million, because the outfit, an up-and-coming challenger to Microsoft, hopes to use their New York success to snag contracts with the rest the country's governors.

The remake version of "The Net" is eerily similar to the recent contract signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul with CrowdStrike, the group that orchestrated the fake Russian hack on DNC servers to help Hillary Clinton win the presidency. Undoubtedly, Hochul trusts CrowdStrike because Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and husband have invested roughly a million dollars in CrowdStrike, and founder Dmitri Alperovitch has strong ties to Homeland Security, the Pentagon, George Soros's Atlantic Council, the CFR, and NATO. What better credentials could CrowdStrike have to motivate Democrat Gov. Hochul?

But it's a surprise that the GOP-dominated Chautauqua County Legislature recently signed on to have their security systems taken over by CrowdStrike. Maybe it's because Hochul allocated $30 million to New York's counties to pay -- for three years -- for the county's cyber-security systems.
