Water decisions leave a bad taste
Water is important for our survival. The city of Dunkirk has fresh water from our filtration plant daily. In fact, the city of Dunkirk has received awards for our fresh water in the past. In fact, the city of Dunkirk supplies this fresh water to those communities in northern Chautauqua County.
Every community wants that fresh, clean water from Dunkirk. Every community except the village of Fredonia, who has water problems that they get from a reservoir. Their residents have been having problems with bad water for some time.
The information I have obtained is that the residents on Carol Avenue in Fredonia have to buy bottled water because the faucets in their homes have brown water coming out. So why do the village trustees refuse to buy city water from Dunkirk? I would think that they would be more concerned for the residents of their village.
Now they want a hospital in their village. How can that happen when their water supply is bad? How would that be for any hospital? I just don’t understand their problem with getting fresh clean water from Dunkirk.
I wonder if the residents of Fredonia know about their trustees refusing to get water fresh and clean from Dunkirk, that’s all. Why would they refuse that, which is good for their community? I would think that the residents of Fredonia would question that.
