Constituent wants response from Langworthy
I am a constituent of the 23rd district in New York state. I have become increasingly dismayed with the lack of communication and concern for the constituents of this district that U.S. Rep. Nick Langworthy has shown.
Since Feb. 23, I have written four emails with my concerns about President Trump and his total disregard for not only the health, welfare and education of the people living in the United States and abroad but also for his total disregard of orders from multiple courts and to the Constitution of the United States. In addition, I have made multiple phone calls to each of his offices. In all cases, I have asked for a response. Unfortunately, the only response I ever receive is a form letter, which I seriously doubt Mr. Langworthy has even seen, that says:
— “I believe his agenda will lift up all Americans and lead our nation back to prosperity and strength.”
— “Rest assured I will continue to work with anyone on either side of the aisle to do what’s best for our 23rd Congressional District.”
— “As you may know, President Trump has long expressed significant concerns about the Department of (insert whichever department I was writing about). I share President Trump’s concerns about the waste, fraud, and abuse that are rampant at the Department of [insert here] and many other agencies in the executive branch, as well how it has far outstepped its intended role with failed results.”
— “The American people spoke loud and clear in the 2024 election and gave President Trump a decisive mandate to enact his agenda.”
I expected this as most politicians seem to not really care about their constituents, they simply want to placate them and get reelected.
However, when I wrote for the specific purpose of asking Rep. Langworthy to take a firm stance in favor of impeaching Trump due to his tyrannical behavior, I received no response. This was part of a group, Citizens Impeachment (http://citizensimpeachment.com/) that contacted over 330 representatives in 50 states.
There have been 15 yes responses supporting impeachment, eight no responses and the rest, including Langworthy, did not comment.
I am encouraging Langworthy, and all the others that have not responded, to publicly commit to upholding their most fundamental democratic role — removing tyrants from office. Commitment to these basic facts — that Trump is a tyrant, and Congress needs to act now to get him out of the White House — will be a major litmus test for any 2026 candidate.
I hope we get a good response on this critical issue soon.
