The irony would be funny if Albany Democrats were not costing us billions of dollars to accomplish nothing, while simultaneously pushing their “affordability” meme.

Apparently, working people have noticed their electric bills doubling, and Albany is getting nervous because our affordability problem is home-grown and cannot be blamed on anybody else — try as they may. If Albany has its way, our rates will soon double again.

Rational energy policy has the same effect on Albany’s Greed Machine that direct sunlight has on vampires. The Greed Machine is that cabal of big investors and politicians who hoped to get super-wealthy on “Green Energy” mandates, tax credits, and subsidies. It is brought to you by people who otherwise decry corporate profits.

NY State has already wasted $79 billion on environmentally disastrous Green Energy with no effect on the climate. Furthermore, the UN IPCC finally dropped its phony doomsday scenarios RCP8.5 and SSP3-7.0, which were driving the Net-Zero madness even before Al Gore’s “Inconvenient Truth” fed us all that nonsensical climate doom.

Yet, many people still suffer from Net-Zero Derangement Syndrome. The US and Europe have already wasted over $10 trillion on unsustainable Wind and Solar infrastructure while gaining nothing. Why are we still doing it?

The Greed Machine has always been always focused on the big profits made on the backs of taxpayers — not the environment. We were not supposed to notice when billionaire profiteer Richard Branson openly admitted that fact on TV back in 2006 with Al Gore.

It has been known since the outset that the Net-Zero mandates in New York’s Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) are impossible. But the laws of physics do not care about the doomsday political ideology behind CLCPA.

In March, Gov. Kathy Hochul was forced by those pesky laws of physics – and the courts — to ask the Legislature to delay the impossible Net-Zero mandates (conveniently) past 2031. But kicking the can down the road will merely hide the legal problem while she blames everyone else for the mess that she allowed to happen by denying reality.

And now, the Greed Machine is desperate to rescue its gravy train.

In April, a group of Albany Democrats – along with some so-called environmental groups — filed a lawsuit to force the state to comply with the impossible mandates within CLCPA, particularly the “Cap and Invest” mandates (follow the money).

The Greed Machine wants taxpayers to continue subsidizing $Billions in environmentally destructive Wind/Solar/BESS infrastructure that will all become landfill in 15 years anyway. Where will we put the junk? Who will pay for its disposal? Certainly not the LLC shell companies who made all the money. They will declare bankruptcy when the easy profits run out. Their “letters of credit” for remediation will be useless.

So be prepared to pay — yet again — to clean up the environmental mess Albany Democrats created with our money.

However, the bigger irony of the Greed Machine involves those getting wealthy by gaming the system, all while pretending to care about the environment. The big investors include the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council, Environmental Defense Fund, 350.org, and others.

For example: 350.org is heavily supported by uber Democrat Tom Steyer, who became (and remains) a Billionaire in fossil fuels, and particularly coal. By supporting 350.org, he has been granted an “indulgence” by the Climate Church. As if by magic, his coal is now environmentally safe. How convenient!

These so-called “environmental organizations” enrich themselves by gaming the system politically with disinformation and destroying our environment with Wind and Solar farms. If they actually cared about the environment, they would be planting trees in fallow fields and preserving our natural woodlands instead of mowing them down to make way for future landfills of Wind and Solar farms.

The stupidity of these co-called environmentalists is as stunning as the hypocrisy.

The Greed Machine is destroying the state economy and chasing the little guy’s jobs out of state to enrich the billionaire investor class, while simultaneously decrying the “evil rich”.

Again, the stupidity is as stunning as the hypocrisy.

Now consider the May 14 report from NYISO (manager of the state Electric Grid), which warns us that we are at risk of crippling backouts as early as this summer – precisely because we rely on non-dispatchable Wind and Solar sources. That will do wonders for our economy and the little guys whose jobs keep leaving!

The chaos of wide-area blackouts should scare you. The loss of our industry (and people) should scare you.

Any politician not willing to repeal CLCPA should scare you even more.
