Trump foes blind to faults of others
For the last 10 years I have been trying to understand why people hate everything that Donald Trump says and does. I have never been able to comprehend why some have gone out of their way to destroy not only the president, but also all the members of his family and a thriving business that employs directly and indirectly more than 20,000 persons in well-paying jobs.
The Trump Derangement Syndrome among Congressional Democrats and their friends in the national press often springs from their mind set that he is a fascist. Of course they conveniently forget the fact it was only the Joe Biden administration that used fascist tactics against Trump when the FBI swooped on the then former President’s home at Mara Lago. Never before in the history of this nation has a former president’s home been searched from stem to stern.
It was nothing more than a “fishing expedition” that violated the Trump families’ privacy just to take the focus off of Biden’s illegal possession of documents from his days as vice president stashed in his garage in Wilmington, Del.
They also forget the fact the Biden administration directed the FBI to investigate conservative Catholics as potential right wing terrorists and also parents who had the nerve to question what their children were being taught or even propagandized about in their schools
The Biden Justice Department engaging in judicial overkill instigated multiple criminal and civil cases in New York and Washington, D.C., and Atlanta between 2021 and 2025 against Trump with the sole purpose of blocking another presidential run by the president.
The cause of TDS in some women, like those on ABC’s “The View” arises because they say he is sexist with no respect for women. Or perhaps it’s because in 2016 he defeated the “anointed candidate” Hiliary Clinton.
For others, TDS developed because, in their minds, he is a racist which is nothing new because congressional and national Democrats have branded Republicans racists for the last 90-plus years which until recently insured the wholehearted support of African Americans. By the way, the most racist president in the last 115 years was Democrat Woodrow Wilson. Born and raised in Georgia he ordered the re-segregation of the federal civil service and government bureaucracy and promoted segregation in the military.
Some have developed TDS because they say he lies. In what I hope was a joke, The Washington Post once stated President Trump out-lied other Presidents. The Post claimed that in his first term Trump told more than 30,000 whoppers averaging 21 per day. And they tell us the Post is a great newspaper!
For others, their TDS developed because he is a wealthy businessman.Congressional Democrats, many of whom have never held a real job in the private sector, distrust and probably are jealous of business leaders like Trump although they willingly take their campaign contributions. Wasn’t it the “unenlightened” AOC who recently said you can’t earn a billion dollars except by cheating and breaking laws?
In other cases, TDS developed because he puts the U.S. and its people first. This goes against the beliefs of globalist elites who support international cooperation over national sovereignty and often favor a so-called “one world system” or believe in a “world without borders” where people are seen as “citizens of the world”.
Others despise his immigration policies and want to return to the chaotic border policies of the Biden era. That was a time when millions of illegal aliens, many who were gang members, terrorists, Chinese spies, and unaccompanied children who it appears were sold into a kind of slavery, entered our border.
There is little doubt that all the hate speech Democrats, leftists and progressives spew out about Trump have led to three serious attempts on his life and two shootings close to the White House. This led Jon Favreau, a former Barack Obama speechwriter and currently a podcast host to actually imply that the President was to blame for anti-Trump assassins trying to kill him. Truly absurd words but in the current hate and blame Trump for everything political climate that isn’t surprising.
For me our President, despite his sometimes meandering public statements and sometimes unpresidential manner and language, is the first president in my lifetime who views the world as it is and not as they wish it to be. He told our NATO allies they need to do more to provide for their defense and he faced up to the fact that a nuclear armed Iran ruled by Muslim fanatics poses a threat not just to the Middle East but to the entire world. While the Supreme Court’s ruling in the tariff cases, where I agree with minority opinion of Justices Kavanaugh, Thomas and Alito, has temporarily thwarted his attempts to impose higher tariffs to bring sanity to our trade relation where the U.S. has long been treated as “Uncle Sap” he continues to work on “work arounds” of the ruling.
Finally, psychiatrists, psychologists, and therapists who have analyzed the intense emotional reactions associated with Trump attribute the extreme fixation, anxiety, and hostility that develops to several distinct psychological and systemic causes. Among them are an obsessive political preoccupation that can lead to overstimulation of the amygdala — the brain’s fear and threat-detection center. They also feel that the modern media landscape with 24/7 news can be a primary driver that exacerbates this distress.
