There’s no massaging some beliefs

By THE REV. MEL McGINNIS 4 min read

Getting a ton of "likes" on Facebook, liberal reverend Bryan Berghoef posted, "Only a small mind would equate being a Muslim with being a jihadist" Responding, I wrote, "A discerning mind equates jihad with Islam."

Typical among liberal pastors plaguing the church and America, Berghoef's popular remark lacked discernment. Compounding the lack of discernment, another cleric challenged my equating jihad with Islam claiming that greater jihad is internal struggle within a Muslim and lesser jihad is the outer war with infidels. A quick-witted respondent replied, "I don’t really think the people that are murdered by Muslims when they shout "Allah Akbar" really care about lesser or greater Jihad."

What's more, the cleric posting about greater and lesser jihad failed to recognize it as inauthentic hadith, having no origin in sound hadith, as in Sahih (sound) Al-Bukhari.

Religious tolerance is great, but many people can't discern how Islam is more than a false religion. It literally bleeds over into politics as an evil system of government operating under oppressive Shariah law.

How oppressive? If you dare draw a cartoon of Mohammed, challenge the claims of the Koran or practically put bacon bits in the salad of a Muslim, you can expect rage to erupt. In Egypt, for example, Dr. Augustinos Samaan, an Egyptian Coptic Christian scholar, received five years of hard labor under the country's blasphemy law for merely creating educational videos comparing Christianity and Islam. In Nigeria, a Christian is murdered every 86 minutes.

France isn't about a juvenile hissy-fit over classroom conditions in schools. It's a jihad of sorts with the Left in cahoots with enraged Muslims to incite revolutionary fires elsewhere in the West. A beleaguered young French woman appalled by the mayhem in her country posted a video pleading with the West to stop the invasion of Islam into their own countries. Islam is in France and it's a burning sensation with mosques oddly unscathed. . .

As the Iranian "Death to America" government urges American voters to participate in the midterm elections against Trump, it swayed someone on social media to satirically say: "IRAN 1979-2025 Death to America. IRAN 2026 Vote Democrat. Same message; different wording."

The "Peacefully Co-Exist” bunch are out-to-lunch in thinking the party of LGBTQ can mix and match with the "hang-the-homosexual" Muslims true to Islam. If this Red (DSA)-Green (Islam) Alliance keeps gaining momentum in America, a pro - Palestinian trans-man may not even have to go to Gaza to get a bullet to the head before he can chant, "Free, free Palestine."

Paranoid people think President Trump will harm gay people, bring back slavery or strip women of their rights, but Islam will. A political party has hopped into bed with Islam on one side and Marxists on the other using each other in their quest for ultimate power.

As a visiting professor to the West from Lebanon, Gad Saad said, "There is no political Islam; no moderate Islam; no Islamism; no extremist militant Islamism; no Jihadism; no Wahhabism; no self-radicalized Islamism; no radical Islam; no radical Islamism. There is only Islam. Countless Islamic leaders and scholars have said so. Only Westerners come up with euphemisms to protect Islam as though the latter fictitious terms are something distinct from Islam."

History is void of those terms of massaging Islam into something other than Islam. The trendy euphemisms are an invention of the dumbed-down modern mind defective in discernment.

Those euphemisms show up in Christianity as well, like "gay Christian," "queer Christian" or "social-justice Christian" reshaping faith into something other than the faith handed down once for all to the saints of God (Jude 6).

Slippery euphemisms are no substitute for the truth of one faith, one gospel, one universal church with one Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
