There has been a lot of news made in the last few weeks so here is my take on some of the stories. There has been a lot of talk about U.S. Rep. Elsie Stefanik’s future recently. It would be nice if we had a real governor from upstate New York and Stefanik would be my first choice as the next Republican candidate for the office. Currently the Siena College poll has incumbent Kathy Hochul comfortably ahead of possible Republican contenders like Stefanik but that is normal for incumbents who have done even worse jobs than Hochul has. The Democratic Party of today is deplorable. All they have is hatred for our president. They have no plan for the future of our country. I used to be a Democrat for over 60 years, but after Barack Obama, and then an incoherent President Joe Biden, I changed my affiliation to Independent. U.S. Sen. When Things Look The Same

Life can sometimes get complex when things look the same. The other day, for example, my wife went to the lecture at Chautauqua and took a rollator...essentially a walker with four wheels that helps out when you have a limp or a bad leg. Policy creates a 10% national sales tax

In 2025, the United States has essentially imposed, for the first time, a 10% national sales tax on the wholesale value of everything imported into our country. Even agricultural products that we do not produce in the United States are now faced with a minimum 10% tariff, which ultimately is paid by each of us when we buy that agricultural product at the grocery store. Nuclear chickens come home to roost in state

In 2019, with great fanfare, then New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which Democrats claimed would usher in a new economic era in which New York state would lead the world in Net Zero (carbon free) electricity generation, and create a thriving new economy.
