Big surprise on birthday

Editor, OBSERVER:

Thank you to everyone who came to my 80th surprise birthday party at the Legion Hall and for all the cards and gifts.

$1.2M seems a bit steep

Editor, OBSERVER:

I have been in real estate and finance in this county since 1970. I have owned a mortgage company since 1985 which also buys, restores and sells buildings.

If the college will be good enough to grant us a quarter of the $1.2 million to restore the Fenner House — $300,000 — we will gladly completely restore it and save the building.

I might add my company should be able to make a sizable profit from the endeavor.

I can only hope the $1.2 million figure stated by SUNY Fredonia is a misprint.

MIKE STANTON,

Fredonia

GOP leaders must heed call

Editor, OBSERVER:

It is time for Republican senators to grow a backbone and vote to impeach “Captain Bone-Spurs” and start to heal our nation, as well as our international reputation.

This administration is bad to the bone, and has been a disgrace since 2016. It’s is time for our leaders to step up and make the tough choices they were elected to make.

Forget your precious re-election — do the right thing and send this imposter back to his private bankrupt empire so we the people can restore the glory to our sacred American republic.

We the people are fed up with “politics as usual” and we’ll do whatever is necessary to preserve our democracy.
