Sale gives back to WCA Home

Editor, OBSERVER:

A BIG thank you to the Dunkirk-Fredonia and surrounding communities for making The WCA Home’s ninth annual “Gently Used Christmas” sale a huge success! The Friends of WCA Auxiliary were very pleased with the generous donations of Christmas items for the sale.

There was a large variety of gently-used and new Christmas items for people to choose from for the sale that took place on Saturday, Dec. 7.

A large number of people came to the sale to purchase items at very reasonable prices.

Some were yearly event goers, while we had many new faces in the crowd. We thank you for your support!

Last year I mentioned in my thank you to the community that it was the most successful sale so far. Well, this year totally surpassed last year.

Funds raised for activities and entertainment to benefit the men and women who reside at The Home exceeded $1,600! Kudos to the staff at WCA Home for helping with this enormous task of displaying all the generous donations and for helping to clean up after the sale. You are the best!

The Home provides its residents and respite care guests with quality living, safety, companionship, and all the comforts of a “home away from home.”

The dedicated and trained staff are committed to maintaining a quality of care that is unsurpassed. Its special blend of privacy and care allows for personal reflection, as well as group interaction and assistance when needed.

The Friends of WCA Auxiliary organizes two events each year to help defray the costs of activities for the residents.

If you are interested in being a part of this fun group, please call The Home at 672-7961.

Thanks to everyone for their generosity!

Faith, prayers lead to the truth

Editor, OBSERVER

God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit are the voices and the power of the “three in one.”

God answered my prayer with love and forgiveness a very long time ago. God blessed my life with hope and purpose, while destroying suicidal temptation.

I was dead in my many sins and addictions when I gave them all to Jesus. Now, I am free! I am a brand new me! God fills my heart with peace!

There once was a man named “Job” who lived in the land of Uz. He was blameless and a man of complete integrity! He feared God and stayed away from evil!

Present your bodies, a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, all your reasonable service.

Fix your thoughts on what is true, honorable, pure, lovely, and admirable! Think about all the things that are excellent and worthy of praise! The word of God is all I needed. Read it!

This might just be “God’s miracle healing,” for all addictions and alzheimer’s disease too!

Choose Jesus: the way, the truth, and the life!

VIC RICHARDSON,

Brocton
