Use your head with scooters

Editor, OBSERVER:

I love to see the young adults in our community enjoying the newly available electric scooters.

However, the riders I have seen are not wearing helmets. Helmet use is generally recognized as an important safety consideration for bicycle use. The same should be required on scooters.

Head injuries from a fall can prove to be life threatening and long lasting. All such suffering could have been prevented by helmet use.

Ultimately, helmets could be provided without cost by friends and neighbors whose family members have outgrown them.

Clearly, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”

Pillow project going strong

Editor, OBSERVER:

I wanted to take a moment to express my gratitude, through the OBSERVER, to the community for their continued support with the donations of and for the comfort pillows that I am able to share with those in need

The community’s support is a blessing to many, that can’t be measured in mere words.

With heartfelt thanks,
