Tough decisions with Israel

Editor, OBSERVER:

Maybe it’s time to cut Israel loose based on their deplorable behavior since October ’23. After the attack claimed 1,200 Jewish lives it seems Israel knows no bounds with its response.

And the terror continues as Israel prevents humanitarian aid from reaching the refugees, leading to starvation and medical emergencies. Where is the outrage from the rest of the “civilized” world? There’s no one willing to stand up to Benjamin Netanyahu, calling him out for the thug that he is. And the United Nations should be disbanded – it’s such a pathetic organization, so feeble and ineffective.

And here we are giving Israel $3 Billion each year, part of which they use to buy US Treasuries, thereby earning interest off our tax dollars. Now that we’re down to importing 10% of our oil from Saudi Arabia (our only reason for even being in that part of the world) we should pack up and leave, and increase our imports from Canada, Mexico and Brazil.

We’ve got plenty of serious domestic issues that need attention without getting tied up in the affairs of foreign nations. We’re on the edge of a possible civil war thanks to the divisive and disgraceful performance of Trump and his loyalists.

We’re the laughing stock of the world thanks to his ill-advised back and forth tariffs, his purging of many of our necessary civil servants, his contempt for the rule of law, and his despicable pardons for the Jan. 6 convicts.

The only growth sector since he took office has been the legal profession, working 24/7 to stay ahead of the tremendous number of his legal battles. The midterms will allow us to restore the values which make our country great.
