Justice not always served
Editor, OBSERVER:
Far left judges seem to forget their oath to follow the U.S. Constitution and often invent their own logic.
Logic which does not require any relationship to the written words of the U.S. Constitution. Fulfilling a campaign promise, Joe Biden nominated Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court. Ironically, the woman nominated because she is a woman could not define a woman, when asked at her U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee confirmation hearing.
For some justices, there are warning signs and Jackson not being able to define “woman” was a pretty good indication she would be a slave to the far left’s fads, no matter how imbecilic.
In the Supreme Court’s decision preventing federal judges from issuing nationwide injunctions, Jackson dissented; she believes any local federal judge should be able to override a president on a nationwide basis.
Justice Amy Coney Barrett, writing for herself and five other Supreme Court Justices, tore apart Jackson’s dissent. Justice Jackson’s position is difficult to pin down. Her position is at odds with more than two centuries’ worth of precedent, not to mention the Constitution itself.
This is not the first time a SCOTUS justice has taken Jackson to task. Justice Clarence Thomas, who is also black, excoriated Jackson’s dissent in a concurring opinion that ended legal “affirmative action” in university admissions.
How can a justice, who knows she was selected on the basis of identity politics, be expected to fairly adjudicate cases that involve issues of race and sex?
This is a warning to all defenders of the Constitution.. Justice Jackson will not be bound by logic or Constitutional constraints in her decision making. She is an openly, far-left advocate who will put her personal political beliefs first, even when they directly contradict the U.S. Constitution. Constitution defenders beware. At 54, Jackson has a lifetime appointment.
