Water’s draining toll for village

Editor, OBSERVER:

I would like to quote from a commentary in the Oct. 1 OBSERVER: “Fredonia’s water decision has sadly produced division and heated debate among village residents and water customers. There is a great deal of misinformation being spread and lots of finger pointing and disrespectful name calling.”

I would encourage the writer, a reservoir supporter, to take a look in the mirror at his own behavior at the village board meetings.

I am disappointed that this issue has caused so much hate and verbal abuse of our trustees and mayor. That behavior is uncalled for and childish.

While everyone is entitled to their opinion, and disagreements can and will happen, hate cannot be a driving force. Our water issue is a can that’s been kicked down the road for years, and now it has come to the point where it must be solved, and solved with all haste.

Whether you agree with the final decision or not, holding the village hostage so that you get what you want is not the solution. Remember that this affects all of us, not just you.

The writer seems to have a great deal of knowledge and passion regarding village issues. Perhaps he should put his name forward to be a trustee.
