The Session of the First United Presbyterian Church of Dunkirk has called the Rev.Wendy Myers Heinz to be their pastor and the Western New York Presbytery, as of July 23, has given its approval. Rev. Heinz will begin her service with the church in September, but has already planned a series of conferences with committees and personnel to get acquainted.

Forty years ago — 1981

A biography of Mrs. Samuel P. (Patricia) Ralabate of Dansbury, Conn., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William D. Kelley of McClenathan’s Trailer Court, Fredonia is included in the 12th edition of “Marquis’ Who’s Who of American Women.” A Cardinal Mindszenty High School graduate, she is a speech language pathologist and consultant, and has contributed articles to professional journals.

Fifty years ago — 1971

Miss Mary Ellen Fedyszyn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Fedyszyn of Lake Shore Drive East, Dunkirk will leave this weekend for a year’s stay in Finland. The Dunkirk High School junior is representing the Dunkirk Rotary Club as its foreign exchange student for the year.
