Thirty years ago – 1991

Former Fredonia resident Michael Parks has been admitted to the practice of law by the Committee of Bar Examiners of the State of California. He is a 1983 graduate of Fredonia High School, an alumnus of Arizona State University and the recipient of a Juris Doctor from McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific. Michael is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Parks (Pokrzywka).

Forty years ago — 1981

Mark Mansfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Mansfield of Farrington Hollow, Cherry Creek has been named Student of the Week at Pine Valley Central School in South Dayton. A senior math, science and agriculture major, Mark is the president of the school’s Future Farmers of America. He is a member of the student council, National Honor Society and the basketball, football, track and volleyball programs. Mark is actively involved in his family’s farming operation and is a 4-H member.

Fifty years ago — 1971

The seniors of Dunkirk High School recently performed their annual senior play, “Barefoot in the Park.” Among the cast members were Mike Parsons, Risha Granto, Dale Zurawski, Joan Barris and Stephen Wright.
