Retrospective

Thirty years ago — 1992

Timothy Callan, son of Charles and Janet Callan of Fredonia, has been named to the dean’s list for the fall semester with a 4.0 GPA at The American University in Washington, D.C. A junior political science major, Tim recently returned from studying at the University of London (England). He was also employed as a research assistant to an English member of Parliament at the Palace of Westminster.

Forty years ago — 1982

Ann Denise Aaron, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Aaron of Sinclairville, has been selected as Student of the Week at Cassadaga Valley Central School. She has excelled in both academic and extracurricular activities. Ann ranks second in her class and received a letter of commendation from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. A cheerleader, she also has been a member of senior chorus, student council and yearbook staff, and is president of the National Honor Society.

Fifty years ago — 1972

The Kiwanis Club of Dunkirk has furnished one of the solariums at the Joseph J. Steger Apartments, the 11-story high-rise building for the elderly on North Main Street in Dunkirk.
