Thirty years ago — 1992

Student of the Week is Raymond Christopher, a senior at Forestville Central School. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Christopher of Mezzio Road, Forestville. Secretary of his senior class, Ray also serves as business manager of the school yearbook. He has been a member of the school’s football and track teams for the past five years. Ray plans to attend JCC prior to majoring in elementary education at Fredonia State University College.

Forty years ago — 1982

A number of Stockton residents are concerned about the effect the proposed closing of Stockton Elementary School would have on the students attending the school, the cohesiveness of their community and their property values. Some noted that what Stockton does not need is another boarded up building.

Fifty years ago — 1972

Ms. Diane Trezenski of Dunkirk has been elected to the board of the Dunkirk- Fredonia Chapter of the National Organization for Women (NOW).
