Thirty years ago — 1992
A front page photo shows little Felicia Gallant of Dunkirk as she places a flower in front of the Vietnam Memorial Moving Wall at the Dunkirk Lighthouse and Veteran’s Park Museum. Fifty white roses were placed at the wall during the ceremony in recognition of the veterans from Chautauqua County who died in the war.
Forty years ago — 1982
George P. Weaver Jr., president of the Fredonia Seed Co., has announced that Andrew W. Dorn Jr. has been elected vice president. Mr. Dorn joined the company as comptroller in February 1980. He was elected to the Board of Directors and treasurer of the corporation in September 1981. A native of Buffalo, prior to his move to Fredonia he was associated with M&T Bank.
Fifty years ago — 1972
Two Fredonia merchants have moved the location of their stores. Western Auto and the Why Not Dress Shoppe are now situated side by side in the Russo Building facing Main Street.
