Thirty years ago — 1992

“I do! I do!” is what Sue White and Tim Wahl will be saying in the near future. Mr. Wahl, a Fredonia volunteer fireman, put together an elaborate plan to propose to Ms. White during the Farm Festival Parade. He knelt down and popped the question right on Temple Street and she said yes.

Forty years ago — 1982

Fredonia Citizens for Sports, a group of volunteers seeking to raise $40,000 for the 1982-83 sports program at Fredonia High School, marked the official start of its fund drive by receiving a check for $8,000 from the Blue Bird bus company. The group is seeking to raise money for the school sports program because the money is not included in the contingency budget adopted by the Fredonia Board of Education.

Fifty years ago — 1972

A new processing plant and cold storage building have been constructed on the Wright Street Extension property of Fredonia Products Co. Inc. adjacent to the existing facility in Dunkirk.
