Thirty years ago — 1992
Jutta A. Rawcliffe has been appointed curator of the Historical Museum of the D.R. Barker Library in Fredonia. She succeeds Donna Carlson. Miss Rawcliffe, who was born in London, obtained a degree in French from Southampton University. She also holds degrees in arts administration and art history. Miss Rawcliffe came to the United States seven years ago from England to pursue a career in museum work and has resided in Fredonia ever since.
Forty years ago — 1982
Dr. Robert Barnes emerged the winner of the 1982 Responsible Men’s Society of Lake Shore Hospital’s annual outing at Tri-County Country Club. James B. Foster, administrator of LSH, presented the trophy at the annual banquet of the society. The society assists the hospital with funds and has been in existence since 1965.
Fifty years ago — 1972
Despite the closings of two other branch stores in western New York, the Dunkirk-Fredonia Plaza’s Kobacker Store will remain open.
