The former Steve’s Dining Car is being remodeled at its new location in the municipal parking lot next to the fire hall in Silver Creek. Project Coordinator Louis Pelletter said plans are under way to try to rebuild the dining car as it appeared in about 1939. There will be a door and windows in the front of the car. One of the changes from the original design will be a handicapped accessible entrance on the side. Once completed, the restored dining car will be available for community meetings for groups and for fundraisers such as ice cream socials.
