Thirty years ago — 1992

The Charlotte Town Board learned that a new business will be in operation in the township, starting the first of next month. An international Truck dealership will be taking over the former Miller Trucking Co. building on Route 60. A proposal involving another possible business establishment was also presented to the board. Baltimore, Md. based JWP Enviro-Gro Technologies is considering establishing a plant on North Hill Road in Charlotte.

Forty years ago — 1982

The city of Dunkirk will be flying a Canadian flag along with its American flag next summer in Memorial Park as a result of an exchange that took place recently between the city and officials from Greater Buffalo Press. The firm has a Canadian division, Greater Canada Color Printing and it was recently suggested that the Canadian plant and the city exchange flags. The Canadian division will fly its new American flag at its plant in Canada to represent the link with the United States in Dunkirk.

Fifty years ago — 1972

A local call from a telephone booth may soon cost 20 cents instead of the present 10 cents if bids by American Telephone & Telegraph Co. units now under consideration are approved.
