Thirty years ago — 1993

Bill’s Gun and Saddle Shop on Prospect Road in Sinclairville celebrates its 30th anniversary this month. As part of the festivities, visitors can view displays of antique saddles and various other pieces of horse riding equipment dating back to 1870. This is all part of items the shop owner, Bill Frost, has collected over a 40- year period. Also part of the celebration will be trick roping demonstrations, riding exhibitions and various other events related to horses, guns and roping.

Forty years ago — 1983

Lisa Myers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Myers, 4 Reese Parkway, Fredonia has been designated a state finalist in New York’s “Talented Miss Pageant.” Eightyear- old Lisa, a tap dancer, is a second-grade pupil of Fredonia Catholic School. The pageant will be held July 12-16 in Syracuse.

Fifty years ago — 1973

About 45 Dunkirk High School students representing the “Citizen” and “Ivy Tower,” the school newspaper and yearbook respectively, will participate in the 37th annual Press Day at St. Bonaventure University.
