Marjorie Holmes, one of America’s bestselling authors, will be in the Dunkirk-Brocton area this week. She will spend time at the Portland Bay cottage she shared with her husband, the late Dr. George Schmieler, and take part in an autograph session at The Book Nook at the D&F Plaza in Dunkirk. She will autograph her newest book, “Second Wife, Second Life” — the story of her meeting with and subsequent marriage to the Pittsburgh physician. They met when both were in their 70s and had lost their first spouses.
