Thirty years ago — 1994 The Sheridan Town Board, by a unanimous vote, joined the Chautauqua County Legislature in expressing opposition to the proposed “Rails to Trails” project. The legislature had recently voted 14-11 against seeking aid to convert abandoned railroad rights-of-ways into multi-use paths. The town board would rather see the property in question sold to adjoining landowners.
