Memorial Day: The sacrifices for freedom

It is easy to forget how good we have it living in the United States of America. Each day we wake up is another day of freedom.

Sure we have to go to work. We have to pay bills and have some other responsibilities. But our life is not dictated to us by our government leaders. Our employment, for the most part, we have chosen. And we have the ability to live wherever we want.

It is not that way in other countries. We live in the greatest country in the world.

Today, we take time to salute those who helped keep America free. Many who went to war never returned. But their legacy remains in how we Americans live our life every day.

We are able to make choices. Able to drive a car. Able to make as much money as we want. Able to have a family however large we wish.

It is not always perfect, but there’s no country that is better than ours. Celebrate America today. Head to a local Memorial Day service and remember those who sacrificed for our nation and its future.

God bless us.
