Government: Public relations and bad choices
Talk about bad use of taxpayer dollars. The town of West Seneca is spending $3,000 per month, according to The Buffalo News, on a public relations firm.
“In my opinion, this is a very worthwhile expenditure and it will be a positive to the taxpayers, the residents of our town,” Town Supervisor Sheila Meegan was quoted in the newspaper.
That same supervisor also thought more than a year ago a 14.7 percent increase in her pay was a “worthwhile expenditure.” It’s no wonder residents are upset.
Public relations does not smooth poor choices that affect residents’ pocketbooks.
