Gerry: Rodeo draws large crowds
You could not help but be amazed over the weekend by some of the traffic and crowds along Route 60 near Gerry. The grounds were packed — about 7,700 attended — the 74th annual Rodeo.
The longest consecutive running event of its type lived up to the hype with more than $80,000 paid out over the four days of the event, which is put on annually by the Gerry Volunteer Fire Department. Saturday’s finale also was a highlight with 3,000 in attendance.
Next year marks another milestone: the 75th anniversary. Congratulations to those who put in the hours to put on a great show. It also puts Chautauqua County on the map.
