A new year begins today
It is a day filled with excitement, anxiety and a bit of disappointment. Today marks the first day of school.
That means buses will be out in force. Some children will be walking. And, there will be a greater energy to our downtowns with the additional traffic.
There also are hazards. Bus signals flashing. Children walking near roads. Lower speed limits.
Take some time today — and every other day during the week. Most school zones are 15 mph, but there are exceptions. It’s 30 mph around Fredonia on Route 60; 25 mph around School 7 and 20 mph around School 3 in Dunkirk.
Remember, slowing down is only a minor inconvenience.
