City’s dilemma with position

If you’re Warren Kelly, you come into a job with little expectations. That is because your predecessor, who has apparently been terminated, did nothing but put out lawn-mowing orders.

Such is the position of a code enforcement officer in Dunkirk. If you look around, there’s no big eyesore of buildings. Just lawns that need to be mowed.

Yes, that is total sarcasm.

What happens with the city position, however, remains in question. Al Zurawski, who no longer works — for now — in City Hall is likely to challenge whatever officials say happened.

Since he is in the public sector, his termination could be justified, but he could still be brought back. If that happens, he’ll also be paid for doing nothing for the time he is out.
