ATHENEX: More progress on major effort
New York state and Athenex continue to deliver on promises made in 2016 to the northern Chautauqua County region. Within the month, the last piece of steel was put in place at the monstrous facility off Route 5 to the east of the city border.
Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board members heard that report on Tuesday, which means the major project continues to move forward with the premise of a potential 900 jobs. It was three years ago this month, the governor talked about the plans at Dunkirk High School.
Many in the region had their doubts. But the building is real — and it’s an impressive sight.
