Now that summer has officially arrived, many area communities will see the addition of one more happening where they live: concerts.

On Wednesday, the season opens for the Cassadaga Lakes Summer Concert Series when the Cassadaga Area Concert Band performs on the beach at the Strawberry Social from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Donations for a strawberry shortcake will be accepted. This event is sponsored by the Citizens for a Better Cassadaga.

In addition to this event, the schedule includes Sunday evening concerts every fortnight beginning this week on the floating stage with South 79. These concerts can be attended by boat or bring a blanket or chair. The hillside down to the floating stage is a natural amphitheater with shade trees and stunning view of the lake.
